My first experiments with reflective surfaces started with work derived from identity-based toy sets during my degree. These sets had names like Lawman and Glamour-girl. Behind the rigid plastic skin of the vacuum formed packet was everything needed for the role. I re-worked the packets by replacing the clear plastic with mirrored plastic to make the objects more seductive and the viewer more of a participant.
Since then reflective surfaces have been a common theme of my work.
